To ponder on..i think..

There exist times during everyone's lives where they have all the energy and motivation to get up and just keep moving till they are tired, and then move some more! The inverse is also true in that we find people who get up and just don't do anything, and when they need to, they don't really do anything anyway!

Procrastination, the reasons i think it exists and the reasons we find ourselves procrastinating.

Don't you know that feeling so well when your sleep gets disturbed at an absurdly early time so that you may get ready for work and be early missing the traffic. The choice to set you alarm was done when you was in a determined mood to get things working, planned and going along smoothly. That however changes when the actual planned time to carry out what we planned arrives, and then we procrastinate, thinking about all the excuses we can come up with to not wake up. This is a typical case of procrastinating.

We find people who constantly feel like they are brooding, procrastinating about stuff, weighing the importance of doing anything about it to the actual completion of it. This could be a bad quality to have, as we all mostly find ourselves doing it, and do believe that it is the 'devil' persuading them. However, thinking about it a bit more, what would the converse be like?

Imagine a life where we didn't procrastinate. We would all go through with our work and decisions, perhaps without thinking enough on it. We may jump too quickly into things making hasty decisions. Without procrastination, we could find ourselves getting caught into making decisions without the option of delaying some things perhaps to make a better informed decision.

Procrastination forms a part of how we are made, and allows us to make decisions as well and spend enough time thinking on it. We all work comfortably setting adequate time frames in our mind, yet when we procrastinate, we realize that we can get stuff we usually do in a stricter time regiment, and we put this off till later.

Sometimes we can extract the good parts of procrastinating, but just having the ability to, makes us resourceful. We can use this to think more about what we are doing and carrying out, but there has to be a balance, since we cannot procrastinate about certain things till forever. So getting up and doing things is important and rewarding, but some level of procrastination would also allow us to understand what we can do and how to more efficiently carry out things or make decisions.

A little procrastination is good for the soul!
