time for reflection

The last day of this year and I'm here at work in my office not being as productive as i should be, looking for every excuse as not to do so as well, i remembered my blog which i have been away from for way too long. Perhaps no new thoughts that came to mind, or really nothing to share, but i guess there are times when one finds themselves sitting and thinking about things. Just sitting here, i am wondering about the year that has passed and what progress i made in my life. I have spoken previously about making the most of our time, yet i feel that that has been easier said than done. I feel that although sometimes we feel that we do not progress in life and find ourselves in the same place we were when we left, there are things about a person that changes and things a person realizes and feels differently about. Looking back specifically on this year 2012, so much has happen and so many things change. We see things differently as we did last year this time, though sometimes we feel stuck and in the same place. I know that personally i felt as if the year just flew by, though i also know that i have done quite a bit in this time as well. What this leads me onto thinking about is that although we spend the time and do the things, we do to really appreciate the passage of time. I could have a full weekend from Friday evening all the way to Sunday afternoon, and still get up on Monday morning and complain to everyone at work that the weekend was too short! A person has the capacity to deal with a specific amount of things at any point in their life. There are some people who like to do so much more and are always looking for different things to occupy themselves with. I feel i am one of these kind of people and hence i also feel like there are so many things that are interesting and that i do not do. Listening to a CD on the Life of Prophet Mohammed (SAW), i came upon a section where they mention that as Muslims we should not busy ourselves in things which have no value to add. The type of of activities that he proposed from that time are activities such as swimming (as they were Arabs from the desert, they didn't know how to swim, so learning how to swim would be advantageous to them), marksmanship and even horse riding. To me, these kind of activities are only some of the thing we can do in the times we live in today to make our selves better people, and although i know i wouldn't be able to do everything, i will endeavor to learn a few and do my best to be good at it. A happy new year to everyone, and may 2013 bring plenty happiness and joy to your life!

why live to die

Ever wish you werer in a place where time seemed to not change anything around you, where you could do what you felt like till your heart's content. An everness for your dreams and desires. When you find yourself doing just the right thing at the time without anyone to disturb or distract you.

The world as i see it now is full of distractions and things that change. The places we stay, the things we do, the way we choose to live are always changing to circumstance and desire. As i did mention in my previous posts about the way we always have desires which change when we get closer to our goals, in the same way we cannot sit around doing the same thing day in and day out! Sometimes we feel that we are doing the best thing and we wouldn't want to change it for anything in the world, but there does come a time when this too has to stop, for we are all slaves to the same time.

I haven't really written a post for a while, since i haven't found the combination of motivation and drive as i did when i start, and this can be seen as a classical example. There are always thoughts that i find myself pondering about, though most seem to have been covered in my previous posts and the newer ones never seem to have an adequate amount of substance to write it out.

Most people live their lives from a conservative perspective to be safe and secure, while there are some who are more out there and have a greater chance of being distinguished and recognized for the way they live their lives. We all can achieve different things, though we choose not to as we find the things we understand and know to be satisfying. Can this really be enough reason to justify our lives? doing the same thing in and out, knowing in a ball park where we are going to be in 10, 20 and 30 years time. What kind of retirement we want to have and other stuff as such.

If we lived in a place where we didnt have to concern ourselves about getting old and planning for stuff that may not happen, would we live happier lives which are more significant and gratifying? Perhaps it can be done by changing the way we view ourselves. We make the priorities and goals for ourselves. A change of mind would certainly make us better at living in a time where time is money, and our timing with the world would determine where we are headed.

Why live to die, when we can change the way we look at living and live to make a difference.

fears that make us who we are

One of the most primal instincts we have is the feeling of fear. We all feel it and understand that there are things in this world which we fear. Some things we fear more than others depending on its possible effect on us.

Personally i fear time as one of the things that will catch up and take its toll. We all age as it is our nature to, and yet i feel that i may not be able to do everything i wanted or accomplish as much as i wanted to. Perhaps i procrastinate too much, perhaps i aim too high, but the end result cannot be avoided.

Coming into contact with things around us, we learn to fear things such as falling and hot surfaces, but this we learn usually after experiencing it first hand. We also learn of other fears of things that don't exist, but are rather made up by our imaginations such as monsters under the bed of in all the dark places. We do however learn to overcome some of our fears as well.

The more we understand about things around us, the more we loose our fear of things which we know cannot harm or hurt us in anyway, and we develop fears which are more realistic such as things which cause grievous harm physically and emotionally. From being in an accident to loosing the love of our life's, we get hurt and fear the same situation happening again. People sometimes don't recover from these for their entire lives and others learn to deal with it and get over it.

Fear makes us mortal and helps us understand our boundaries to a level. We do however get quite caught up when we tend to be extra cautious and as a result we loose site of taking any risks that may be for the better. We become conservative and never do anything out of the box. Our fears can make us into boring and strange people.

Taking a step back and looking at our fears and our lives on the whole, we may see that death is inevitable to everyone. In the same way, do we fear death or do we rather fear the amount of pain it may take to kill us?
As we know the certanities, we cannot stop them and hence we cannot postpone when is meant to happen. We shouldn't take risks that are not worth it, but on the same breath, we shouldn't bury ourselves in a hole fearing everything that may go wrong.

Myself, i feel i have made many mistakes in my life and i don't want to go through them again, but without certain things that happen to us which are out of our control, how would we ever develop our characters to be with those who have fought wars and became renowned for their strengths.

what we really need to survive?

A break to discover, find out more about oneself. To learn about new things we didn't know previously. To discover the truth about how we feel and what we really think about stuff.

I haven't written a post for a little while now as I took a long time over due break, even though it was just a week! The change of scenery is always welcome for the light it brings to your eyes to see things from other perspectives. We look for motivation to do things we don't really feel like doing, like the reason a lot of people work. Like, really , who enjoys getting up on a cold Monday morning to go to an office and work. The reason behind that is really as we understand it to be that we need to earn a living.

Earning a living can be defined as being able to earn money to be able to at-least live with the most basic needs such as food, clothes, shelter. We can extend these needs in orders of priority such as lighting, privacy, etc. In the day and age that we exist and to be able to live in a medium standard of living, we would have to have so many things above our basic needs. We would need fast transport, easy nutritious meals, clean clothes and that's just a few.

Looking back, we can still remember how we were content in our younger days without having any money at all, but going out into the world and still having fun and productive day. We cannot however say the same looking forward. The things we would need to live a normal life in the days of current and looking forward require so much more.

We can however accept that most of what we do is better advanced that what we may have been used to in the past, but sometimes we seem to get lost on a tangent trying to keep up with the world and what really makes a positive difference in our lives. We cannot walk barefoot anymore without our feet getting sore since the shoes we use always are always comfortable and soft. We cannot stand the cold or heat as we are so used to climate controlled environments.

We adapt to our surroundings as it is in our nature, but i feel that we shouldn't make ourselves too complaisant as to expect everything to be perfect all the time. We are made to be able to withstand and endure certain things that we are exposed too, but how would we ever be able to deal when we have to if we don't let ourselves be exposed to some kind of hardships at-least?

To be a strong person, i think we need to look for the rocky road rather than the easier one sometimes.

communication, huh?

I can relate to the frustration of talking to a person about something but seem to not get through. The feeling can be described as when two people talk with each other, but they are having two totally different conversations. The reason for this can possibly be attribute to a misalignment in communication between the two.

Communicating is one of the ways we interact with people around us. The mode of communication we use most is that of speaking a language. We talk and communicate with the people around us easily by this mode which we take alot of the time for granted. We feel that we have an adequate hold onto a language so that we may communicate clearly with another person. This is true when we talk with people around us and the type of people we grew up with as they learnt the same expressions and meanings of most of the same words we know, but this may not be true everywhere.

In many countries we find there are a multitude of languages spoken. From this many languages, we all learn to speak one of the many common languages from our teachers and communities and as such, we learn the understanding of the language from them.

It is widely known that there are many variations of languages all around the world, and thus the interpretation of it as well. Let's use English, since thats the language i understand and communicate in. There are many ways people use the English they know and tie it up with their understanding of things around them. Eg, a person who learns English in America, may be able to adequately communicate in general terms with another from South Africa, though the same understanding might not be appreciated when a South African would make an English reference to something specific to him.

This can be extended in general to all people and when we try to communicate assuming that the next person understands us clearly. This can be a grave mistake since we may say something which should mean good, though it can be interpreted wrongly.

We all know that in all out relationships, we can say things and they get misinterpreted. This is common and can happen to anyone. What we need to exercise and realize is that we are susceptible to it and make ourselves aware. This will help us communicate more clearly and understand people better.

when you are down

When you are down, sadness covers you like a blanket. Looking for all the possible reasons you are in this situation, all the possible reasons you may have missed and overlooked. The first of the many that come up may comprise of feelings of feeling bad for yourself, thinking you are the center of everything that has gone wrong. The feelings of everyone against you, or perhaps that the universe is acting opposing you in all forms and ways.

In life, scientifically or religiously, people feel sad and depressed a lot of the time as a reaction to the way things around them proceed and develop. It is a fact in life and we each deal with these thing in our own ways. I do feel that different people can handle different thing in their own ways and has a capacity of how much they can manage with.

Being sad and depressed may feel like you heart in sinking, drowning in some kind of darkness and may also be associated with hurt and pain emotionally. We spend a lot of time during these feelings lost in thought and memories, trying to recall our steps and make sense of the reason things happen to be as they are. People who have gentle hearts may cry and try to get away from everything, while there are also some people who are almost not phased by it at all, though they may keep to themselves.

The way we react to situations and the place we allows ourselves to be put in is the cause for most of our sadness. We do not necessarily know before hand how situations would turn out and the effect it would have on us, but what we can learn to do is learn to deal with it.

We deal with sadness if different way such as forgetting it, or ignoring it and hoping it to go away. A lot of psychologists say that we should face our worries to best solve them and move on, but certainly one of the way i found is that 'time heals'. When we are sad, we shouldn't just give in, since there are so many things that we overlook and take for granted. We can spend sometime taking in our situations and also remember all the things for which we are fortunate for.

A person who overcomes despair, i feel after it is overcome, they come out stronger than when they went in. We learn more about ourselves and capacity during these kind of times. We also learn to appreciate our times of need and appreciate it when others are there as well. When we are sad and depressed, we need to stop, think and make a resolve to carry on, since life goes on, willing or not, so should we.

Without facing despair and sadness, we wouldn't be able to really face reality. I think that a person can work harder towards their goals after they are faced with difficulty and appreciate why they are working towards something.

distinct CHANGES

The way i see it, i feel that change happens constantly in small increments which we don't really pay much heed to. We would realize and appreciate better how much change has happened when we reflect back to a point in our lives and compare it to where we are at the present. This can be seen easily when we look at pictures of ourselves from our past and compare them to us now.. some of us perhaps changed little, and some more dramatically, but in the end we don't 'feel' this change as much.

In our lives our bodies change and at the same time so does our minds. We sometimes change our minds as often as we change our clothes or even more frequent than that even! There are somethings for which we choose not to change our minds about and that is because we can be stubborn at times and even when we realize that our understanding may be erroneous.

When we find that we question things in our minds, it does not mean we do not believe in things but it more shows that we are trying to find a better understanding for what we choose to believe. These questions might not always be in our minds as we might take certain things for granted, such as if we believe that we are created and divinity, then when we ask ourselves of the concept of evolution, we might find ourselves questioning things about what we believe. It does not mean it isn't true what we believe, but shows that we are open to think about it and find a better appreciation for what we think about it.

Our understanding and the way we learn to interpret things in our lives are determined by the way we choose to think. We can be rational and figure that things always have answers which only makes sense to us. We can be intuitive and think of situations and how things that don't make sense should fit with us. To carry this out successfully, i feel that we need to realize that we are expected to change all the time. We should be open to think and question the way we do things and the way we carry out ourselves.

Knowing that a person can change might seem as being unstable, but i feel that a person becomes more understandable and can make solid decisions about things. They can be fair in their thoughts as well as being fair to their beliefs.

Change the way you think and try to understand that you would never understand everything. We should do as much as we have capacity for, but lets not criticize when other people have questions, but rather help them (and yourselves) in understanding better. Change for the better.

a virtue called patience

In all the things we learn in life, one of the lessons we keep coming across is patience. Patience is related to time, as we know that not everything can get done instantly. We practice patience when we have to, though at the same time we want certain things to go by faster than they can and this is when we are being hasty or rather impatient.

In all the things we do, we learn and appreciate things. We learn to savor the things we yearn for and rush through the things we find as an annoyance. There are many proverbs which got to do with patience and its mostly about how virtuous it is.

I relate a the value of patience to calmness and the picture with a serene setting. By just thinking of patience,we physically express things slower and spend more time on these thoughts. Our mind works as such, that they work and calculate somethings to understand it and this process needs time. Some more than others.

Methods used from ancient times to think about stuff can be found to be all different types of meditation. The main reasons for carrying out a meditation is to get clarity of mind and thoughts. Meditation always involves a lot of patience to get the required results.

In day to day lives we come across lots of things which test our patience such as selfish people, taxi drivers, incompetent people and even evident lazy people. We get annoyed and act instinctively getting angry and upset. As Ive mentioned before, we can choose how to react when we can clearly decide what matters more to us, example: when a taxi happens to cut you off, instead of upsetting your mood and getting upset (doesn't change the fact that the taxi cut you off) you can choose to concentrate on other things that matter more.

Virtues are qualities which determine the quality of the lives we choose to live. Although there are many people in our world who don't have the same virtuous views in life, it does not mean we shouldn't. I feel that there is always a way and a reason for things that happen and as such, when we choose to be patient about things, we can learn to make the right choices, not only for ourselves but the people around us as well.

Ive read up on of the ways people meditate and found an interesting article on the art on bonsai which talks of how, while doing that, we learn to look at things differently and we would never look at certain things the same way. Eg. when we do bonsai, we learn to look at the details in the trees and look for the qualities in everything around us. We relate this to everything else, and even to the things people usually pay no extra heed to. In this same way we can learn to appreciate and look at things differently.

Practice patience and learn of things you do not know of.

Makes life interesting

Who can relate when i say that the internet connection always seems a tad too slow, or that why can our phones not do as much as we want them to do (even though we do not know how to use half the features)?

Although we are in a place where we have many technologies which make our lives simpler and easier to live than previously, we sometimes get caught up and end up looking at small things which we understand to criticize on. mostly we fail to appreciate the difference that it makes to our lives and we seem to not be satisfied. As i mentioned before, this is indeed human nature as we always strive for whats better. Where we fail though is that most of us have a lazy attitude towards things and feel its fine that we know of the shortfalls and that someone else would look at it.

We fail to understand that unless we make a change to doing things or put into action how we feel, then most probably everyone else feels the same. What we discover about things such as small inefficiencies, we can fix and feel better about it. If we keep complaining and decide that it is someone elses problem, we shall never  find a solution and at the same time we would always be annoyed with it until someone does something about it.

What im getting at is the fact that we sometimes feel that we are satisfied with what we know and how much we do. We feel that since we work the entire day (for our company goals) we deserve to do nothing else and that anything that isnt in our scope of work that we get paid for, is some other persons problem. Leading a life like this we can fall into a habit that will last till the day we die.

We can however change this and make a difference in our lives. We can change from leading a boring life full of complaints to one which is rather full of new concepts, ideas and ways of doing things. When we become pro active, we not only make our own lives better but at the same time the lives of those around us.

When we think we have learnt enough or we are satisfied with where we are, there is no reason for us to continue. We all have to make our lives interesting by always looking what we can do to add value and change things we feel are inadequate.

We may start fights and argue with people at times, but the reason for these sort of things may be for us to realize that some things need to change and be changed. We need to accept that nothing remains the same forever, then we shall lead an interesting life!

level of respect

Respect. An aspect we learn of and we look for in many different ways for many different things. Respect of the knowledge we hold, respect of the people we know, respect for the value we add to a company and even respect for the amount of authority we command.

Growing, we learn that we need to respect the people around us, our surroundings as well as the thoughts and feelings of everyone. It is probably learnt by our subconscious to respect our parents from our admiration of them and the fact that they provide for us when we are at our most fragile and vulnerable state. As we learn the way of things however, we constantly push the limits and test our parents by being defiant and rebellious. It forms part of our growing up, which we will learn and appreciate better of later.

Our parents provide for us in so many ways making sacrifices and facing times of hardship, though few of us would remember the hardships as they have during the very same time. When we get older, we take it out on them, and since they are older, they know that we are growing and would also have to learn this. The take all our defiance and rebelliousness, yet they always remain our parents. We learn they are always there for us, through our bad choices and our good ones as well. The respect that they deserve, we usually only realize a bit too late most of the time and live with regret.

When at school, we take the respect we learn at home and give it to our teachers in exchange for the skills and knowledge they pass onto us. We also find friends as well as enemy's of all types. We learn to earn respect, and we learn to take respect. Our methods might not always be the nicest types, but we know what it feels like to have respect.

I feel that while earning respect or imposing it onto other people, there must always be a reason for them to do such. Real respect is found when you can really do something that is impressionable and can be looked up by others. Most people that earn respect from others freely, get it by being humble people who we can relate to. To me, a humble person should earn the most respect as they would have your best interests in consideration as well.

The most humble people in most peoples lives are their parents as they do whats best for their children in their capacities.

To have respect, is to earn it. To earn it, we need to find humility.

between two covers

A place where words become places, history, images of cities and far away isolated places. A place which we know nothing of, places where there exist things we can barely imagine and the things we would never really see with our eyes or experience in our lives.

The text which lie on the pages bound between two covers can have endless possibilities. A book is a medium in which we, as a human race record things such as ideas, events and findings. As we are knowledgeable, we have ideas in our minds and we use this for calculating and computing stuff, though we do not have the capacity to remember everything or experience everything in our lifetimes.

The most efficient way of storing these many things by the human race are in books (eBooks as well). Everything from facts, to ideas, to imaginary things. We documents these things so we are able to record or thoughts and share it with the people around us. Storing and sharing of this knowledge helps us with exposing our ideas to more people over distances as well as time. When we ask questions, nobody alive might know the answers, though thinkers from another generation come across the very same questions at another point in time to solve it, then record it and share this as well.

I like to read books which are mostly fantasy since they make up things which do not, and would not exist. They are made up in the minds of the authors and and recorded and translated for us to read. We can read these type of books which opens our minds to the possibilities of understanding things which we have not experienced yet or never will. A fantasy is made entirely in our imaginations and the words in these type of books help our minds sculpt images of places and times.

By allowing the mind to think of things differently, i feel that we can leave the monotonous lifestyles that some of us find ourselves caught up in and think about things from different perspectives. The books we read directly affect us as we relate and learn from the different thing we read about. Example, if we read a book based on some Japanese samurai, we will learn about their honor and perhaps since we would then appreciate it and what it means, we may also adapt that to our lives.

With books, we can learn of experiences, cultures, thought processes and the list is endless. We can record, store and share whatever we want with them. Reading also has other effects that i find specifically. When reading, its usually in a quite place with very little distraction from the outside, so we can almost in fact be drawn into another world. Concentration and a calmness is the most distinct types of feelings i find whilst reading.

To read is to learn and as i quoted previously, we need to "seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave". So read a book, learn something and share the knowledge.

the future we provide

When we think of things that have passed, they cannot be altered in anyway except in our minds and how we feel about them. As we know, we have the ability to remember things such as numbers, places, people and images. These type of things we store in our minds are reflect on them at other times. They make up our memories.

As humans, we can only remember and make memories of things we come into contact with and are exposed to. If we haven't had any exposure of certain things, we cannot have any understanding of their nature or existence for that matter. Since this is true, and we have a finite amount of time to be alive, we also live by memories stored by others in books, songs, drawings and nowadays all types of digital format.. Memories of sickness, hardship, difficulty, discovery and many other such things.

With this already learnt and proven (over time) memories of how our surroundings act around us, we learn and progress on what we know. Sometimes we still make mistakes even though we know what to expect and we discover again what was learnt previously on a firsthand basis.

Looking further, we can notice distinct patterns with relation to people across our worlds. Some of our technologies were different, but we all progressed in different areas. We can say that the people in Europe were the first to record history and philosophize etc, but that is what we know of what was recorded. However, we do know that the rate of learning increases exponentially over time and where we were previously, we find ourselves in a totally new situation, where we find that we can go anywhere, do what we want and the possibilities are almost endless.

Looking back we notice of the deficiencies of our past generations and the capabilities and we sometimes think what if they had what we have, what would the outcomes be? Well, i feel that is exactly what we can do. We need to make the most of what we got, and use the past as a guideline in terms of how we go ahead in life.

We need to keep searching, keep living for who knows what our future holds except for the past which we will provide them with.

to lead is to follow

A person who takes charge, talks with authority, makes decisions and does what they feel is right for the whole. This person we can refer to as a leader. Someone who people look up to for advice, for guidance, for the ways to do things and make decisions on our behalf. The decisions we are too scared or have no confidence to take for ourselves.

Being a leader is not necessarily a bad thing as i feel that such things come naturally to some people and they can be made out. In a perfect system, we would have leaders who are meant to be there and they would lead us adequately, but the reality isn't so.

We find ourselves in times where there are monarchs, rebels and armies taking over governments, countries and holding people hostage to get their ways. There are many ways in which people are leaders and at the same time we find there as much people who want to be leader since this is a position of power. Power can be both constructive and destructive depending on who wields it, and since the power of our current generations are defined by the amount of money, resources, armies and people a country has, the person who has control over the most of these has the most power. Currently we know one of these super powers are clearly the USA, since they have the biggest economy, the biggest armies & capabilities and they have a multitude of people. The risk of holding this much of power is abuse and making the wrong choices. We all make mistakes and yet with so much power, a small mistake can go the wrong way.

We can also recognize a leader in our houses as the person who is the 'bread winner' and such, has the power to control what happens in the household. There also exist more noble households who base their leader as the elders in the house. The point of a leader should be the one that can successfully lead us down the right path in a way we can understand and grow as people, keep up with the times yet not sit in a backward community afraid of the dark since in the old days a bear would look somewhat like a ghost and would kill people.

We also have religious leaders who attempt to guide us adequately down the divine part, but in a lot of ways, we cannot fully understand these things unless we aspire to be someone in their stead as well. We need leaders who know of our lives, our circumstances and can direct us with meaning. When we don't fully understand something, we do feel as if we are being manipulated.

Not everyone is born a natural leader, but we can all take control and lead our lives. We also have people to look up to and follow, but at the same time learn, since we all need to lead at sometime.

to be a Legend

The thought of being remembered even when you are not around, the hope of being around and making a difference well after you have passed. This is what a legacy should be.

We all have dreams and hope to do amazing things during our lifetimes. We dream of making this world a better place for us to live in and perhaps sometimes even for everyone around us. We do things and start projects that wouldn't get done within our lifetimes only since we believe that it would add to the value of life.

We do what we feel is the best thing for the people around us and we also believe that this is the best there is, so we hope to carry this through through generations via the actions we take and the things we set in motion.

Such things are noble and Honorable like the building of governments for war ridden countries in Africa, some aren't like the holocaust created in Germany by Hitler. Hitler indeed had in his mind that he was in fact doing the right thing and that's why he did all he could to carry it out. In the same way we all feel that what we do is sometimes the best thing for everyone and we aspire to carry out this to everyone around us and even to people who are still to come.

How do we know whether our intentions are on the right side or are going to really be better for the greater good? We know that sometimes things that seems harsh may be good such as ending a life of a suffering animal. At the same time, how do we know when that line is not to be crossed? Do we end the life of a person who is suffering only because they cannot lead a normal life after this?

The notion of leaving behind a legacy by a person is a noble idea and shows that there is some need to be remembered for carrying out something meaningful and for the betterment of everyone on the whole. Though there are so many people who are born and die at every moment, not everyone can be remembered as they desire and not everyone can make a difference.

We who have the opportunities need to make the best of it and do what we can. We shall leave behind meaningful ways for living, but to do this we need to make a difference. Lets become legends of our times, do something to help, even if its a small part of a greater project that would only be realized years after your passing.

lifes roller coaster

"When days are dark, friends are few" - something i read on the back of a taxi, and i remember it because i can relate it to so many people I've spoke to, know and myself has experienced. We find friends, or rather get found by people with motives not known to us but we see the good side of people. People are considerate and give in returning the favor, though what we lack is the foresight to see some deceptive people for who they really are.

We live in a place where we learn many hard realities. Some of us at a very early age and some of us a bit later, some of us not at all. We learn best from experience even though we might get advice on it prior, example, when we get told not to touch the stove or iron since it is hot, we will wait for the first opportunity to touch it and only after the excruciating, soul jerking pain do we learn not to touch things that are hot since they burn and it feels like death itself.

We do however learn of peoples true intentions though and know the type of people that exist. We can appreciate that we all have the same capabilities and we may be doing it in some other way we do not realize since we all will do things to benefit us or what we feel should be done.

Life is not a constant place where we live all happy or all sad all the time. We go through times of hardship, times of pain, times of happiness, times of exhilaration and many more! We cannot say exactly when we would experience each, though we do know the types of feelings to expect. The feelings of happiness, love, excitement are the types of feelings which we enjoy and look forward to, yet there is a time where "all good things come to an end"

People get sad when they have to give up some of these type of things, that's why we cry when people we care about have to leave and we feel sad when our holidays are over. The same reasons we get happy on Fridays, and are kind of depressed on Mondays.

Life has many ups and downs, though we looks forward to the happier times. If we come across times of distress, we need to realize that there is also times of happiness. We need not get caught up in the moment and i feel that our lives although isn't always awesome, we can make the best of our times that are.

the difference

"Men are from mars, Ladies are from Venus"
This is a heading many would relate to when knowing that men and ladies are different. How different is what i'm going to try to make some sense to get an appreciation for.

I feel that men and women both are strong, but certainly in different ways. Men exist (generally) with deeper voices, bodies made for higher intensities, and generally tough work.

Ladies are made gentler, with a calming nature and features which are meant to attract the male species.

In the world as we know it, we know that we strive for humanity and that means we want all humans to be equal, be it that they are men, women, multiracial, come from different heritages. All humans have the capacity and capability of developing into the next president or tyrant, but what is the difference?

Does it take the most intelligent person in the world to make our lives easier, or is it really the person who works the hardest on it? The thing that makes us unique is the way we carry ourselves out and the way we do things. This is influenced by how we perceive things and the way we react to them.

Many of us have dreams to make a difference to this world that we live in since we find that there are things about it that we don't like or cannot stand to like and i find this true as especially with things such as murder, rape and numerous other such things. We want to stop the violence, stop the pain, hurt and anguish. We have good hearts and want to stop all the things we know as bad things, but just how prepared are we?

Do we know the consequences of our actions before we carry them out? will the future generations look back at us and laugh at the naive thing we do in the same way we look on our past? we know that war and revenge are not the right ends of any stick, but these are the things that were understood to out an end to the suffering and pain of others.

We who want to make a difference, need not only look for peace, but we need to know of the effects of our actions as well. We stop people from killing off people by fighting wars and stopping them. They then start making weapons of mass destruction to take revenge of all the people that was killed during the wars. Finally by reducing the resources and capacity of others to make weapons, they cannot forcefully harm people. We then live our life's by eating too much and loose our instincts to live, and we end our lives by dying of heart attacks, strokes and many other medical reason as a result of our lifestyles.

We can all make a difference, and this can be done by knowing the difference from our past mistake and what we can do now to change where we are headed.

walk the walk

Clear thoughts and clear words. Expressions that show just the right emotions and not a hint of fear or reprieve. This is what i think of when i try to picture a confident person. Confidence is a quality that not every person has or comes to naturally, though it is something that we can achieve.

To be confident, we can further describe it as knowing exactly what we are doing and what we want to do and how to execute it successfully. We would have no doubts in our ability and at the same time no fear of failing in what we do. Since we cannot just do anything perfectly from the first time we do it, we require practice and mastering the skill required, like how you would have confidence in speaking a certain new language only after you have learnt it properly. In the same way we cannot always be confident in what we do for the first time.

Sometimes we will come across things we do that even though we practice it and do the best we can to master it, we still cannot find the confidence in ourselves for it such as if we had to learn archery and we master it, but when put in a situation such as shooting a target of a living person, we loose confidence in our abilities, which brings me to another concept which is important to having confidence, and that is bravery.

As the saying goes: "you can do the talk, but can you walk the walk?", is a nice way of noticing the difference. In our minds, we can be confident of what we do and be prepared, so we can talk the talk, but to walk the walk we need to find the bravery within ourselves.

Brave people are people who can be classified with people who take risks even when the odds are against them. Brave people are not always the people that come out on top, but we know certainly that brave people can make a difference, in a good and bad way as well. Not only are heroes brave, but in the same way, so are the bad guys. The difference lies only with what each want to accomplish.

There are times when we feign confidence and put on a mask just to hide our true intentions and feelings such as sometimes when people get stage fright, they train themselves to keep the audience from knowing by the figurative mask they use. A brave person uses this to get over the lack of confidence for this type of purpose.

In the end we find reasons in our life for being confident and for acting confident. Being brave and acting brave. The ways we show ourselves out in this world is the way the world would react to us. We have an influence over this. This is the same reason we convince ourselves to be brave during times of hardship and confident when making important decisions or carrying out important tasks. Be brave and have confidence in what you do.

the appreciation of things

Anxious, nervous and excited all at the same time. The feeling of showing of something meaningful and close to your heart. The anticipation of sharing what you love and adore. All the details usually overseen to the unsuspecting eye, all the time and dedication to get it just right. Who else would ever understand it just the same?

We all know just how we feel about the things we dedicate our time towards and the type of satisfaction we get from doing it and it doesn't stop there since we know and appreciate the details of doing it just as perfectly as we can!

Artists appreciate the critique of other artists better than the layman on the street since they can appreciate the intricacies and effort put into it, as well as the symbolization of the techniques used, also the meanings of all these things put together to create the final product. In the same way musicians appreciate the critique of other musicians etc.

This also does apply to us in every way, since we are always looking at things from our perspective first, then from the perspective of the people and community around us. We all have a certain level of appreciation for things we can understand and use. we all appreciate just how we like our toast buttered, or for some of us who have tea, we appreciate the difference in adding just boiling water or rather having the tea brewed.

What i feel we lack is an appreciation for things that are different and seem foreign. We cannot totally appreciate everything as we don't totally understand it, but we do have the capacity to understand that there is an appreciation to it, such as the person that has a better understanding of it will do.

Sometimes our opinions are based on what information we get generally from around us, such as people studying all the time are boring and do not make good friends, yet throughout our lives we use stuff that these people have thought of, invent and implement so that we can live comfortable lives. We do not appreciate the detail and considerations of others fully in all aspects as we should.

Even though we cannot appreciate everything, we can at least do our best to understand there is an appreciation. This would make us less selfish and open to ideas, thoughts and differences we are capable of.

strength to endure

We find ourselves in hard places making difficult decisions. Sometimes we understand fully the effects of our decisions and sometimes we just don't. We live life with an opinion as to how everything around us is, and use our own lives as yardsticks as to determine just how difficult or easy things are.

Children in Africa and around the world in places with harsh lifestyles, grow up knowing life as most of us would know as being terrible, yet there are some of them that do live on and grow up after this. Imagine a life where you are taken away from your parents before you can comprehend what they look like and what they were like, then you get placed in a camp where you are given food enough only to sustain your life and put through a rigorous regime of training and hardship. What state of mind would you find these types of people? For certain i know that i think its a totally sad and tough circumstance to live in. How do they manage?

I know that we find ourselves in life with tough situations that feel as if we are on the verge of falling apart. We also give up before we get into anything because only to avoid the anguish of breaking down or loosing hope. This i feel is a bit sad as we should not be living life in fear of things that might happen if we do something out of our safety zone.

As in a previous post, http://thinkrandomness.blogspot.com/2012/05/get-up-dont-give-up.html, i speak about a person not having more than they can handle. How would we even know what we are capable of if we do not go out and explore? Yes, we will get hurt, yes we will find the going tough, and yes we will hate a lot of it, though what we do get is actually living life and experiencing things we never would have otherwise. We add meaning to our lives.

The more aware we are of our lives and the type of lives our fellow human beings are exposed of, the more we have an idea of what the capabilities of us as humans are.
We know that we have the capability of visiting the moon, going to the deepest depths of the ocean and climbing the highest of mountains, but we also need to put into perspective that we can endure harshness and difficult times just as well.

For all the things we aspire to do, we have people who aspire to be as we are. Most of us wouldn't find ourselves at the extremes, yet we all want to strive to live the best life possible. We cannot choose where we are born or what language we speak, yet we all have things in life that might seem very difficult.

"Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one" - Bruce Lee

Lets be strong in character, deep in understanding and open to possibilities. Life is an unknown, we need to take our opportunities and savor every moment as we savor the things we enjoy the most.

clarity in calmness

A night when there exists two moons, a night where there exist two skies. All the happenings can be dissected and separated into the specific description of a scent, the sharpness of the objects around you, the feint noises of far away rustles. This picture of calmness can be classified as such by the lack of interruption, the smoothness and detail of the descriptions and the consistency of the feelings.

A calm person's presence can be felt and sensed by the way they act, walk, look and their demeanor. These type of people can be also found when people can clearly foresee the different outcomes of a situation, and hence have control over their reactions.

In life, working class people are used to working in stressful environments, having deadlines, meetings and changing plans. People get their jobs with a mandate to perform. This performance which they keep up to do their work or even do more than their work can be stressful. Stress is a good thing in a situation which requires results, as the stress makes you mind and body more reactive to working.

I believe however that this sharpness of the mind and body can also be achieved when a person is calm. As i said above, when a person is calm, they tend to take notice of more detail around them and process this information with better accuracy since they are working to the capabilities of their bodies. It is understood that not everyone has the same capabilities, yet, we can all be calm. We find that there are people who seem to work better under pressure and this may be true, however this make for an excuse for the person to carry out their work at the very last minute since that's when the pressure would be.

When i have a lot of things on my mind happening at the same time, i feel it difficult to focus on a single thing and carry it out properly as i always start thinking about the other stuff. This is when i feel like i cannot do enough and handle everything at once time. I used to do art in school, and found that i could be at it for many hours concentrating, and at the same time it brought my thoughts in line. That is only a single way of many we can use to find some type of calmness.

As a calm person, i feel we can gain control of situation and work more efficiently. A calm person listens, calculates before they act. We should strive for this.

innocence, that we lose and that we gain

With wide open eyes full of wonder, an open mind looking for answers, not a hint of suspicion, not a strain of disbelief: these are the images i see when i talk of innocence. An example which can be perceived by almost everyone, is that of a child no more than the age when they just start listening and talking their mind and learn to work things out.

A child is not taught that lies exist by explanations given from parents, but rather, they learn, as the rest of us, of the lies and deceptions through experience. We can relate to this by an easy example, where when we try to get a required reaction from a child, such as to get a child to behave, some of us would offer them ice cream since that would make them listen to us, but the  issue of rewarding them with ice cream is not always upheld. It works the first few times, until the child can piece together that its just an excuse. We can notice this when the same child start asking us our own questions such as: "will you get me ice cream if i behave?" and many other similar cases as well.

We know of innocence as being one where there is no alternative agendas and there is nothing hidden. We lose our innocence when we learn about how harsh our lives can really are and we understand the actual workings of peoples minds and the possibilities of our real intents.

Since we as humans value our lives and we have an amount of self preservation as our priorities, we will look out for ourselves before others. When we look out for ourselves, we also find it in our thought processes that we may need to keep things from other people which sometimes involves a level of lies or deception. This is when we can confirm that the innocence we once had, is lost.

With innocence, goes along a feeling of being naive, since the reason we are innocent, is because we do not know any better. When we do know, we become more thoughtful and think about things before we speak them. People are innocent in different things as they grow up, such as girls are innocent to intimate relationships until they start dating and then they find their way. People are innocent of bargaining until they start bargaining on their own, and many other examples.

The innocent part in all our lives are defined by the people around us. We could not choose our influences and the way we learnt to make decisions, but these things help define ourselves, character and the finally the thought process we use.

We need to be mindful of the innocents around us and treat this as an opportunity to shape their minds to allow them a better understanding than us. We also need to teach the people around us who are innocent about certain things and help them understand better.

and in the end, it doesnt even matter

Among the best feelings in the world, the ones i can describe are the feeling of relief, joy, love, freedom and many others. Some specific things that i can think of at this moment is the steaming feeling after a hot shower just before you go to bed (usually during winter this feeling is especially awesome), the feeling of realization of someone that really cares about you and more.

The reason I'm highlighting these types of feeling leads me onto my question which is what in life do we look to accomplish? Fair enough we all want to lead happy peaceful lives, filled with love happiness and joy, but this is not a reality and certainly not a way a single person i know lives their lives. Three are millions of people around the world who live each day not knowing what they are going to eat, or are they going to survive another day.

As people, we look to accomplish things to lead a decent live at least. Part of accomplishing these things involves what we do. We all (most of us) go to school to study and learn, after which we further our studies in fields we feel we are interested in and at the same time will be meaningful to us. Meaningful in a sense as that there are jobs for our field so we can earn a living, and when we have the capacity to study something in a more specialized field such as medicine or engineering, we work towards that goals to increase our earning capacity. Most of us choose paths to get the most out of what we do. We study to get a qualification and then we start working in a job and look to progress in that job and with these moves, we become more valuable in terms of resource and in the end we look to earn as much as we can.

If we take a look at some of the people who are fortunate enough to have enough money as not to worry about such things most of the people in our world have to deal with, we will see that they all are not working hard studying and pursuing a career after which they can retire peacefully. They do what they want, since the monetary part is covered.

Even though we don't have that kind of money, our perspective in life is important as well. I know that we can get caught up in life with our careers and working life, that we forget the reason we work and earn money. We forget our dreams and what means the most to us. We get into the rat race of a boring life, doing the same things day in and day out. We sign up to work and commit ourselves to working hours yet how many times you feel that you want to go to work everyday? We believe that this is how our lives need to be and the worst part is we forget.

I do feel that we can still enjoy what makes us feel happy and what we live for even with progressing in our careers. Life is very fragile, we can be here one moment and gone the next. We cannot progress after we die, so why cant we enjoy life all the way through and not just put all our eggs in a basket on having a comfortable retirement?

"The best things in life are free"

Look to all the things that are really meaningful in life and remain happy even though things may not want you to be.

rage, a story for calm

The tips of my fingers start to tingle, words get stuck in my throat, i get goosebumps in anticipation, suddenly i feel braver and everything else seems totally under my control. The fear is gone, and i feel my body taking over from my mind. At that very point, it all just stops. I can breath again, can see clearly and just stop and think clearly again, no, no mistakes this time.

We define humans as being a species of animal also. We say that we also have likeness to instincts which can be found in our genetic make-up. We have numerous glands which produce hormones in our bodies to exhibit different modes such as the release of adrenalin when our body goes into flight mode (requires increased strength, concentration, breathing etc). These reactions occur mostly on a subconscious level, and we do act on this. We get into physical fights, arguments and we do things which we usually regret later.

These things which we regret range from mild to insane. Mild would be using harsh words on a person which after a while when you think back, you regret saying certain words that you wouldn't have. Some people refer this as being the 'heat of the moment'. Clearly from experience we know that this is a point where we loose control to an extent on our faculties and do things we are not always fully aware of until it is done. An insane example would be the point where we perhaps kill a person or multiple people.

I feel that in every case that we face, we always have a choice, or choices to make. We make these choices weighing our options like on a balance scale and give preference to the one that we feel tips that scale. The difference when we do things before we think and when we choose to think first properly before we do something is this point. When we are angry and we have raging feelings building inside yourself, we tend to do what makes us feel better at the time instead of thinking logically and choosing the right path.

Sometimes we may feel that we don't have control over ourselves at this point, but i rather think that we don't want to rather. I have been in this kind of situation a few times and i know the intoxicating feeling of giving in to letting go and coming out on top, but i soon also realized that we can have control over ourselves and the way is to think what it would be like in such scenarios before we get into them.

I also sometimes feel that i lack the ability to react to things enough because i choose to think about it first, and more often than not, i choose to let things slide as the option to live life the way i want it out weighs most of my other choices.

Perhaps you may find yourself loosing control because it feels good, or you are always on the edge.I think that finding something you can use to tip the scales that make you see that there is something worth more than fighting.

"My secret is... i am always angry"  - everything has a solution, even if you may not be able to find it doesn't mean it does not exist!

unassumed strength

What does it mean to have strength?

We know that usually when we are talking about a person who has strength, we picture a guy with defined muscles who could perhaps carry a horse. This is the physical strength that we think of when referring to strength. We also know of emotional strength, like when a person has the unfortunate opportunity to go through many hardships such as loosing everything around them and they have to get up and continue with life. With this high levels of emotional distress, people learn to endure more and more of the sad things that we can expect in life and hence, they become emotionally strong.

In science, the strength of something can be defined by the amount of energy the it can absorb before it fails. This we can logically tie with how we feel and a similar definition for our strength.

Initially, i used to think that the harder something was, the stronger it seemed, though i did find out later that this perception was indeed false, since harder things can absorb lots of energy initially, they have a limit at which they suddenly fail. Example, glass is a hard substance, and relatively strong, though once it cannot absorb anymore energy, it shatters.

We can use this as an analogy when relating it to people as well. We sometimes feel that people who are stern and hard as we say, might seem as they have no feelings and are almost emotionally dormant, but there may also be a realization that they really only have the capacity of being mean to an amount after which they break down and cannot do it anymore. They keep their emotions closed off and almost immune to any hurt.

On the other hand, people who are trustful and soft at heart, show their emotions often and at the same time their good nature is taken advantage of, and in the end, they always get hurt. Though these type of people get hurt, they do not totally shatter. They get up and move on.

I feel that true strength lies with those who are soft at heart and are the most caring. These are the qualities we should look for in ourselves.

Don't be mean, be sweet, adorable and caring.

charging for interest

A glimpse, something know, something not. perhaps enough, maybe not at all. Which of these would we say are the truest of the lot?

Capturing the interest of a person or an audience means to make a person curious. A curious person is interested in things they do not know. We all are looking for answers even though we might not seem as much, but that is certainly how we are made.

A bright light in the surrounding darkness forms a beacon, a river falling over a ledge makes the sounds of peace and similarly people who have something to share create intrigue in the people around them.

People of a community, grow together and generally have a lot of the same mannerisms. They speak with the same dialect, have similar beliefs and even react similarly to things around them, since what the young learn if primarily from their parents, then the schools (run by the community). In the same way, a person develops their personality and also an understanding of logic. They figure out what kind of things make them happy, and at the same time they discover their capabilities and limitations.

A young person will look up to a person whom they admire, since that person would have the qualities or lives in the way that young person aspires to. These are our role models. I know that not all people who are role models are perfect or any good for that matter, such as drug using musicians or actors, but these ideas are exposed and built into our societies.

We relate wealth and being famous to these people, but at the same time we say they do all these bad things. At another moment, we all strive to be wealthy as well, so logically younger people make the link, and start believing that doing the same as these 'role models' they will end up wealthy. There are many other examples such as this one, but you get what i mean.

How does a person gets interested in somebody, but at the same time there may exist a person who isn't interested in that person at all? As i mentioned above, i think that people are interested in other people according to what they admire in terms of capabilities, attributes and personality. Like the saying goes "opposites attract" might just be true, since what a person might be lacking in, is what interests them in the next person.

In the end, i feel that to acquire and keep ones interest is not only the about what the person looks like, but the way these each complete each other.

reasoning with reason

The word reason can be thought about as a way we as humans understand how things happen. Example, the reason the ball fell was that it was released from above and the action of gravity brought it towards the earth. All around us, in everything we do and everything we experience, we try to understand it by relating it to how or why it happen or occurred.

As we learn while we grow and get wiser, we find reasons for everything that happens around us. More in science where we study something to the depths of its being to find out the nature of it. With these scientifically logical ways of reasoning, we can predetermine the nature of certain things (such as water turning to ice when you remove the energy from it).

Standing where we are in this day and age, we can see that science is generally undisputed when it comes to the understanding of things since it makes sense to us. We also know, that not everything in this world, or in our existence is proven by science yet. These are the mysteries that we know. There can also be a debate that as time goes, we will get more technologically advanced and we shall find the reasons for more and more stuff around us, yet there do exist things in life that we do not and shall not come to understand.

Believing in Divinity, these people understand that there are things which occur that we may not totally have a scientifically proven reason for. We believe in our Gods, and angels and other things that may not be comprehended fully by our minds, but that does not mean since we cannot comprehend it, it does not exist.

The scientific reasoning for how we live and our lives are what makes sense to us and how we give understanding to things. We also give reasons to things which we cannot fully understand, perhaps a miraculous recovery to someone who was terminally ill, or even how people manage to carry out inhumane feats. Atheists who believe in proof and facts also don't see the reality that even with science we cannot prove everything yet, but they believe that they will be able too. Who is sure of that? Is that not the same as believing in something we may believe exists?

Anyway, the expression "everything that happens, happens for a reason" is true for us, as long as we do understand that there does exist things that we cannot fully comprehend that may influence how something happens. We know this well enough as we may refer to it as being lucky, or unlucky!

Tuesday 8 May 2012

get up, dont give up

A million thoughts, you ears feeling warmer than they should, you cannot concentrate at the task at hand, always looking for a way to figure out whats the solution, then all of a sudden, like a massive wave, it just hits you and you start lose all concentration, directive or drive to complete whatever it was you were doing. You decide that's it, and you give up!

When things are beyond our control and we cannot have enough of an influence on something, we get scared and fear the worst, which after we realize what the worst may be, we cave in and give up. We find that there are people who work and live everyday with high levels of stress and could be found thinking a lot and figuring always figuring out what they need to do. A lot of other times, we may find that some people work better under pressure which is evident how they work under this stress. they could even be described as being smooth as silk with everything they say holds weight and meaning.

We do know that individuals handle stress differently, but what we find is that with a lot of people, there may be a breaking point where they loose hope and give up. This sometimes is also done due to frustration and being a human, we have the capacity to be short sighted, narrow minded and make rash decisions.

If we take a step back and look with a bit more insight, we will find that we always have choices, even in what seems to be a no choice situation such as if you meet in an accident, but the reality is, that there are so many choices you could have made previously that could have allowed you to avoid that choice. This is sometimes impossible to foresee, but we do have to deal with the consequence.

By giving up, it does not necessarily mean that we cannot complete our task, but it simply means that we could not see our way through it. It seems that some tasks we carry out may be above us and impossible, yet most of us does not truly understand what an impossibility is.

I believe that the choices you make lead you in a direction you choose. This direction may not always take you to where you want to be or where you find yourself, but you are there because of a choice you made yet could not understand all the implications (some we can comprehend, some we cannot). The following verse if from the Holy Quran:
"On no soul doth Allah place a burden greater than it can bear" 2:286. (This verse is also repeated in 6:152, 7:42 and 65:7).
The fact that we find ourselves with decisions and choices to make, is perhaps a reason for our creation. We feel we make right decisions and wrong decisions, but the reality after them is that we are left with what we have in front of us and we have to move on, we cannot move backwards.

To end, i feel that people who give up, really because they feel they are incompetent or hopeless, while they are in fact not, and they exist specifically to complete each task they have. Don't give up, just take some time to rethink, get yourself in a better frame of mind and move on with the pieces you have!

Monday 7 May 2012

here today, gone tomorrow

We exist on this earth, and experience life with a certain constraint of time. We do not have a potentially unlimited time to live, neither do we know just how long we may live for. The older we grow, the more we learn, and understand. The people we become, and the people we meet, all have an effect on our lives. We see ourselves at the top of the food chain on this earth, and we take for granted the lives of people around us.

We get to know famous people about the things they do and we even record the important information from their lives. We live in a digital age, where we have learnt to record and store almost everything from words, voices, videos, pictures and even to a point actual 3-d renditions of items. We create supercomputers and digital storage farms to compute and store data, after which it is fed back to us in a neat, easy to understand format.

We are attracted to things by their colors, smell, tastes and feel. We are a species that in our understanding is superior to any of which exist on this earth and we claim it as ours. There are so many people alive on our earth now, that we can barely count the amount of people dying and being born into this world by the second.

The way we are brought up, we do not necessarily know o fall the different type of people that exist or the condition by which they have grown up, but we do have access to this information. We have access to so much information, that it would be impossible to live a normal life and at the same time cover this information effectively. What we do though is choose the type of information we want to cover, and study it. Like in school and the subjects we study, the sports we play, the types of stories we read, etc.

What I'm getting at today is that, we all have a finite time to live, and even though we know this, we do not know when our time will be up. So we might do well as to consider what we should actually be spending our time on. We do not appreciate how precious time is with relevance to our lives and how we use it. Wasting time and carrying out meaningless activities have no value. I feel that before you do something, you should think about the value that it can add to your life and the type of person it would make you.

I also feel that the most basic of things in life we should strive for, is a healthy body and a healthy mind, though accomplishing this requires a lot of dedication and resistance from a person, the attempt is just as important.

We all are here today, and not sure if we would be tomorrow. Lets make use of our time wisely. The person it should really matter to is yourself, since being on the same planet with 7 billion other people, what we do may not be anything to the other people. Lets make a difference and start with ourselves. Do what we feel is most important and useful in our lives!

a beautiful person

The definition of beauty may refer to the physical attributes of a person, that can also sometimes be further projected in their personality and character. This does not strictly apply though as we may not always find that a pretty face leads to a pretty personality. Though we do expect the most friendliest person in the room to also be the prettiest.

There are many people in this world who strive to work hard and accomplish their dreams. They have their different ways to carry this out and in effect, head towards their goals. From the simplest person we can think of such as a packer in a store working to get their wage at the end of the day to buy food to feed their family.

Knowing this we can also say that every reasoning person has ambitions that they would want to fulfill, be it simple people or very complex people. We can all appreciate that we are all driven to accomplish stuff. There may be some who disagree with the likes such as people who commit crime and are deceitful, though looking deeper, into their actual driving force and the logic used in their minds, we can then see that they as well are driven to follows their dreams.

Looking at people like artists, criminals, priests, musicians and many of the like, we can appreciate that there are a multitude of people that exist and their choices and reasons we cannot understand in the same way we appreciate and understand our own. For example, we might find it right that a priest would ask his followers to go towards martyrdom, but when we see it from the other side, we would never want a person to commit any kind of murder. For that person, the killing has a noble role for him to play, whereas for everyone around him, he is a murderer. Both facts are true but we have choice over our actions.

By understanding these kind of people, and understanding that we may not always understand and appreciate how they feel about a certain subject, we can perhaps allow ourselves to approach these kind of subjects and offer alternatives.

The path we take to achieving our goals does not have to be a single route, but it is determined by our choices. I refer to this path, as that of being a beautiful person. A beautiful person in the sense that we can look the way we feel and act. We do things with considering how we react and what our actions would mean. We would appreciate that there is a difference between people which we cannot comprehend completely, but knowing it exists should help us with our understanding, and hence make us all more beautiful.

Beauty from the inside (as we often refer to it) is important to leading a quality life.

How beautiful are you? is the path you choose to achieve your goals make you feel like a beautiful person?
Understand and appreciate yourself, this is contagious and soon others will as well.
^_^ be the beautiful person

Voices in your head

We think, without saying the words, and usually this thinking is carried out in a language we understand and in a voice we are familiar with. The thoughts that rush through our minds throughout the day are made from this voice.

Certainly, it is in our language since our thought process is done with words and language as our understanding. We can however also think using pictures and images, such as is true for people who cannot hear, talk. This is true when we try to visualize things to find an understanding without any voices in our heads.

How much do we actually take notice of these voices in our heads? We know and understand what they say, as they are the truest form of ourselves and the way we think. We can often find that sometimes we might not agree to what the voices in our head say since we also learn that we need to be polite, kind, thoughtful and caring people, though at the same time the voices in our head are what our minds think of at first.

I'm sure that there are people who can relate with me, when i say that there are what seems like more than a single voice. Like how they are represented in cartoons, being a devil and an angel. This difference can be understood as this since the tone of the voice might change when the opinion of the voice in our heads change. We process information as we get it and work it our in our minds. This can change consistently as we get more information and change our minds.

My point about the voices in heads today relates to how we sometimes choose to hide our thoughts and feelings which we find these voices talking of. These thoughts we sometimes feel we cannot share as we find it might be embarrassing, impolite and even perhaps feel exposed, as these are our closest and most true thoughts. We can think about the thoughts in our mind and if we ponder on them a little more, we will realize how we really feel about something and what choices we have.

There are times which we experience that we speak of the words that come to mind before we can ponder on it too much. These people we know sometimes as being impulsive and sometimes brash and too honest, though put in the same situation, you would probably have the same thoughts come into your mind and the only difference would be that you chose not to act on your first thoughts.

Whats the voices in your head are saying? ^_^

time reality

"Ever been in a place, where all your thoughts are in a race...
Filling up voids, making use of your time, being lost.
Every second not used, gone, would never be achieved
again, yet, every moment left, and yet to come, has
unlimited potential, and positively totally free of
choice. Decisions made, influence your time, yet time
shouldn't influence your decision.
Everyone lives to die, yet everything in-between
means what you make it to be."

The above was written a few years ago, by myself during a time when i just started work, and was thinking about time and how are we affected by it also how we can perhaps have an influence on it. The way we can make ourselves live lives which are more meaningful.

First, i chose to acknowledge the facts, which are that we exist with free thinking minds. We shall one day die as well. The time we have at our disposal is in-between these two points. We come into this world knowing very little except to live, and live is what we do. We learn of the complexities, and progress on. We find our styles, our communities and even our self-identities. With all of this, we become as we are known today.

Looking back we realize that we have learnt at an alarming rate, if we can appreciate the small intricacies, such as the way we learn to control the very muscles in our finger's to form neat words on a page.

In essence, today what i think of, is the same every time i read this extract which i came up a few years ago. It helps me put myself in a frame of mind that takes me away from being caught up with the everyday rituals we get used to , and face a reality i choose. The reality i want to live, and the reality which i can have an influence on.

We do make wrong choices often, but we also have the capacity to learn. So, use your time wisely and be certain to not get caught up and feeling down as you 'have' to do something.
